General Manager/Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Salami is an innovative professional with over 25 years of progressive management expertise in diverse financial institutions, with demonstrated initiative, creativity and success. He is an experienced and seasoned banker, accountant and information technology specialist. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Science degree in General Management both from the University of Lagos.
He is a member of the Institute of Data Processing Management (London) and a honourary senior member of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
Mr. Salami started his banking career with United Bank of Africa Plc (UBA) where he worked for about 19 years. While in UBA, he had opportunities to attend various banking and system courses both locally and abroad, including a one year training in 1975 in England in system development. He was also seconded to New York branch of UBA in 1990. Before joining CDL in January 1996 as a pioneer member of staff, Mr Salami was Principal Manager at African International bank Limited (AIB).
While in CDL, 'Leke as he is fondly called, has had a long period of attachment with Discount Houses outside Nigeria and has benefited from various courses such as Strategic Negotiations: Deal Making For The Long Term, in Harvard Business School, Boston, USA; General Management Program in National University of Singapore; Enterprisewide Risk Management by D&B, India, e.t.c.
